Connect have bought an Acre of the Atlantic Rainforest!
Celebrating Earth Day
For the past 50 years, Earth Day has been celebrated every 22 April by billions of people around the world. Earth Day is a reminder of the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability, encouraging everyone to take action for a healthier planet and brighter future. Our goal is to minimise our impact on the planet and we are committed to reducing waste, pollution, and energy. We are passionate about our fresh food, quality seasonal ingredients and promote responsible practices throughout the company…
Buy An Acre, Save A Home
Through the World Land Trust ‘Buy an Acre’ scheme, Connect have recently bought an acre of Atlantic Rainforest in south east Brazil. This is one of the most threatened forest regions on the planet. Habitat loss is one of the greatest threats facing wildlife worldwide. Purchasing land is the first crucial step in the conservation process, ensuring that the land is protected for wildlife in perpetuity.
C.H.E.F
Championing Healthy Ethical Food, ensures strong ethics are at the core of everything we do. We take sustainability very seriously and are committed to finding new ways to reduce our environmental impact whilst building strong supplier relationships. Reducing deliveries to sites and endeavouring to buy regionally produced foods can only help in the drive to reduce our impact on climate change. We are reducing our food wastage and recycling used cooking oil and food waste into renewable resources such as electricity and heat.
Since 2021 our oil recycling has equated to over 29,345 CO2 emission savings!
Cloud Storage
Cloud storage data centres have recently been in the spotlight for their poor energy performance and CO2 emissions. These data centres have the same carbon footprint as the combined emissions of all the flights in the world. This equals 1% of all CO2 emissions in the world. The demand for these centres is growing, so, what can we do to help? We can begin to lessen the demand for these large data centres, one file at a time.
By 2025 Connect aims to reduce its data storage by 25% to reduce CO2 emissions.
ISO Certificates
We have been monitoring our impact on the environment through the ISO certificates we hold on both environment and energy. We measure the key polluting factors that Connect’s operating creates, reducing this every year as per the regulations of the ISO certification.
- We have 42 solar panels on the roof at Head Office
- 100% of our company cars are electric or hybrid and we monitor all our CO2 emissions and keep all travel as energy efficient as possible.
We are making the changes now to secure a better future for the world we live in.
